Alexander Long‘s third book of poems Still Life won the White Pine Press Poetry Prize in 2011. A chapbook, also titled Still Life, won the Center for Book Arts Chapbook Competition in 2010. Recently, he’s published two chapbooks with Q Avenue Press, Lunch with Larry (2014) & The Widening Spell (edited by Jess Smith) in 2016. Other recent work can be found in AGNI Online, Brooklyn Poets Online, The College of Physicians of Philadelphia, Crab Orchard Review, Miramar, & Valparaiso Poetry Review. An associate professor of English at John Jay College, CUNY, Long is currently at work on a literary biography of Larry Levis.
